And just where did I come from?
Me…in a nutshell:
(Very) Educated:
University of Cincinnati: BA - Spanish Language and Literature (Sí, ésto significa que hablo y escribo en español.)
Northern Kentucky University: Master of Business Administration with a focus in International Business
University of Denver: Master of Strategic Human Resources and Development
Society for Human Resources Management - SHRM-SCP certification
I’ve been working, too:
I cut my teeth in international sales for about ten years, was fired a couple of times, then I decided to transition to HR full-time because I liked the framework of the discipline. Turns out, I’m also adept at the gray-area, always-changing, absolutely-no-clear-boundaries, everything-depends, let’s-stop-making-this-so-complicated aspects of people ops work. I’ve had one boss I’d work for again and a host of others that have inspired me to make work better for all. And, yes, I’ve been eliminated, fired, and separated without any reason given.
Mamasaurus:
Becoming a mom is the life-event that has most qualified me for all of the other things I do in life. Yes, especially as a leader in the professional world. I said what I said.
I believe:
Impactful change can only happen when you fundamentally change the processes and systems that cause your current situation.
